2007-2008 Sanctioned Intrastate Events

The Intrastate Sanction requirement addresses the increasing number of tournaments being sponsored by non-school organizations.

Each Athletic Association (IGHSAU, IHSAA) has implemented a formal sanctioning process for any event managed or sponsored by any organization other than a member school. Either a participating school or the event organizer is required to file for approval from the state office prior to any school being eligible to participate. A list of approved events will be listed below as they are sanctioned. If your event is not listed, member schools do not yet have permission to participate. 2007-2008 Sanctioned Interstate Events

Sanctions will be considered for events located in states contiguous to Iowa (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota) and Kansas. Sanctions for events within Iowa, which include teams from states other than those previously listed will not be approved.

There are no sanction requirements for a school regular season contest against one other out of state school. A list of sanctioned events is listed below. If your out-of-state event is not listed, Iowa schools do not yet have permission to participate. Contact the host school to ensure a sanction application has been submitted.
