Katie Schnoes scored 20 points to lead unbeaten SCMT to a 59-50 victory over fifth-ranked Bellevue Marquette. The win sends the Spartans to the Class 1A semifinals, where they will meet top-ranked Rock Valley at 8 p.m. Wednesday night.
The Spartans led for much of the game, leading 14-11 after one quarter of play and used a 9-2 run in the last 2:39 of the first half to take a 27-20 lead at intermission. The Spartans built a 12 point lead in the third quarter. Bellevue Marquette got as close as five points midway through the fourth quarter but would come no closer.
Schnoes led the Spartans with 20 points on eight of 12 shooting with six steals. Abbee Dickman added 15 points and six rebounds while Valerie Brayton and Jennifer Weiland added eight points apiece. The Spartans shot 50 percent from the field (22-44) as a team.
Ali DeVries led Bellevue Marquette with 20 points while Alison Huss added 15.
SCMT improves to 25-0 while Bellevue Marquette ends its season at 24-2.
