Treynor overcame poor first and third quarters to rally past the Mohawks. Bellevue Marquette built a 15-9 lead after the initial quarter of play only to see the Cardinals rally to take a 24-23 lead at the half.
The Mohawks built a 37-32 lead after three quarters of play and led 41-34 with 4:43 left in the game when Treynor began its rally and tied the score at 44-44 with 1:30 left on a three-point goal by Jessica Rath. Both teams traded baskets with Treynor again tying the score at 48-48 on a lay-up by Amanda Bryant with 39 seconds left. Emily Von Weihe rebounded Abbey Herrig's missed jumper with six second and got the ball to Trotter, who was fouled with no time remaining on the clock. Trotter missed the first foul shot before her second shot rolled in.
Amanda Bryant led Treynor with 17 points and nine rebounds while Rath added 11 points. Allison Huss led Bellevue Marquette with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Treynor (21-5) advances to the 1A semifinals to face second-ranked Rockwell City-Lytton. Bellevue Marquette exits with a 24-3 mark.
