Rankings Every Friday: Softball rankings will be posted every Friday afternoon during the regular season. The next set of rankings will be posted June 5.

QuikStats Now Required For All Softball Teams: Softball coaches are reminded that all teams must update their softball stats on QuikStats. There will be two mandatory reporting dates. The first reporting date is Monday, June 8, (the original tentative reporting date was listed as June 1, but the extra week should give coaches a little extra time to get acquainted with the system) with the final check Monday, June 29. The expectation is that all stats be updated on those dates. Failure to have your school’s statistics updated on those dates will result in a letter to the coach & school administration for the first offense. The second offense will result in the head coach being suspended from coaching in the 2009 postseason.

QuikStats also has a cumulative statistics feature, which would allow coaches to enter cumulative stats on a regular basis instead of on a game-by-game basis. Please contact Jason Eslinger at the State Office if you need assistance with QuikStats.

Coaches: Send In Your Scores: The IGHSAU will again post daily softball scores on its website. You can e-mail scores to Jason Eslinger at jasoneslinger@ighsau.org. You can also phone in your scores by leaving a phone message. The number to call in scores is: 515-288-9741 (you’ll be given prompts on leaving a score). Please be sure to include your updated record when sending in scores and feel free to leave any highlights from your game.

Site Availabilities: If your school is interested in hosting regional tournaments, be sure that your school has filed the appropriate online site availability form. You can view the list of schools that have put in to host by clicking here.
