New Memo Posted: A new softball memo was posted
on June 9 and everyone should take the time to read it. Several topics such as
the DP/Flex and pregame infield are a few of the topics addressed. To read the
memo, click here.
Pairings: Regional pairings will be
released at the end of the day Friday, June 18.
A Note on Softball Stats: IÕm still going through the list of schools that missed the
first QuikStats deadline. Schools will be notified
next week if they are not in compliance. A few observations: 1. Putting just
the score into QuikStats is NOT meeting the
requirement. Schools that have done this will be notified. 2. Statistics
compiled for games that were started, but wiped out due to rain DO NOT COUNT.
However, stats from games that are suspended and eventually made up can be
counted.
Scoring Situations: There are a number of questions that
that pop up during the course of the season regarding how to score a certain
plays, figuring earned runs, passed balls/wild pitch, etc. The NCAA has an
excellent resource online for baseball and softball scoring rules. To download
