Urbandale 3, Davenport West 0


Mandi McKinnie scored a goal and added an assist to lead top-ranked Urbandale to a 3-0 victory over Davenport West in first round action of the Iowa Girls State Soccer Tournament.

The J-Hawks wasted little time getting started, scoring two goals in the first 19 minutes of the match. Krista Kohout knocked in the first Urbandale goal just three minutes into the match while Dana Hansen's goal at the 19 minute mark gave Urbandale a 2-0 lead at intermission.

The J-Hawks added a third goal when McKinnie scored on a Jessie Ross assist four minutes into the second half.

Goalkeeper Tessa Prati had eight saves for the J-Hawks, who have given up just four goals this season.

The top-ranked J-Hawks improve to 23-0 and face Iowa City West or Bettendorf in the semifinals Saturday at 9 a.m. Davenport West ends its season at 9-7.
