Iowa Girls State Soccer Tournament

1A First Round – Dubuque Wahlert 7, Dallas Center-Grimes 0

Rachel Oswald scored two goals and had one assist as second-ranked Dubuque Wahlert erupted for six second half goals to top Dallas Center-Grimes, 7-0, in Class 1A first round play at the Girls State Soccer Tournament in Muscatine.

Oswald opened the scoring 13 minutes into the match as Wahlert held a 1-0 advantage at the end of the first half. The Golden Eagles scored four goals in a 20 minute span in the second half to break the match open.

Dubuque Wahlert dominated from start to finish, outshooting the Fillies, 22-4. In addition to Oswald's two goals, the Golden Eagles received goals from Leslie Schumacher, Alexia Murray, Emily Burgmeier, Kaitlyn Burgmeier and Erin McDonald.

Dubuque Wahlert (19-1) faces Waverly-Rock in the Class 1A semifinals Friday at 4 p.m. Dallas Center-Grimes ends its season at 10-5.
