Cedar Rapids Xavier 2, Waukee 1

Cedar Rapids Xavier's lethal one-two punch of Bailey Dorrington and Morgan Showalter proved to be too much for Waukee as the top-ranked Saints advanced to their third-straight Class 1A championship match with a 2-1 victory over the Warriors.

After a scoreless first half, Dorrington wasted little time getting the Saints on the scoreboard in the second half, scoring on a Showalter pass one minute into the second half. Showalter added the second goal at the 55 minute mark on a pass from Jena McDermott.

Xavier controlled the match, outshooting the Warriors 19-4 with Waukee's only goal coming from Kara Knott in the final minute of the match.

Cedar Rapids Xavier looks to complete a perfect season Saturday in the Class 1A Championship match at 11 a.m. against third-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock.
