Danielle Oswald scored two goals and assisted on another as Dubuque Wahlert advanced to the Class 2A championship with a 3-1 victory over Iowa City High.
The victory marks the third time in four seasons that Wahlert has advanced to the championship game. The Golden Eagles won back-to-back single class titles in 1999 and 2000.
Oswald assisted on Wahlert's first goal, finding Margaret Feyen 30:33 into the first half. She later gave the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead with a goal seven minutes later.
City High had scoring chances late in the first half. Susan Yagla knocked in a Little Hawk goal 27:25 into the match to trim the Wahlert lead to 2-1 and had several chances before intermission but failed to convert.
Oswald added an insurance goal 13 minutes into the second half.
