Class 2A first round - Bettendorf 1, West Des Moines Dowling 0


Brittani Byard provided all of the offense second-ranked Bettendorf needed as the Bulldogs advanced to the Class 2A State Soccer semifinals with a 1-0 victory over seventh-ranked West Des Moines Dowling.

Byard's goal came nine minutes into the second half when she scored on a nice assist from Allison Sanyi.

Bettendorf advances to the Class 2A semifinals where they will face third-ranked West Des Moines Valley at 9:15 a.m. Saturday.

West Des Moines Dowling ends its season at 15-2.
