The defending champs were stunned early when Heelan's Megan Walding scored in the second minute of the match.

Assumption's Molly Cooksey tied the score on a Erin Cooksey assist in the ninth minute. The Knights took the lead when Bridget Krajewski scored on an unassisted goals at the 19 minute mark and never looked back.

Angie Guy and Molly Cooksey added two more goals to give Davenport Assumption a 4-1 halftime lead. Emily Motto and Kristen Serrurier added goals in the second half.

Davcnport Assumption will attempt to defend its Class 1A title against Norwalk today at 5 p.m. The second ranked Knights are 13-2-1.

Sioux City Heelan falls to 16-3 and will face Waterloo Columbus/Don Bosco in the 1A consolation at 4:30.
