Class 1A first round - Cedar Rapids Xavier 4, Waukee 2


Fifth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier jumped on Waukee early, scoring two goals in the first 18 minutes to lead the Saints to a 4-2 victory over the seventh-ranked Warriors.

Bailey Dorrington scored two goals to lead Xavier, who advances to the Class 1A semifinals to face top-ranked Davenport Assumption.

Xavier only needed 83 seconds to get on the board as Sara Clancy scored on a penalty kick. Jenna Gilmer added the other goal for the Saints.

Waukee added two goals in the second half from Ashley Theilen and Hannah Humphrey with Amy Klein assisting on both goals.
