Elyse Galles scored two goals to lead two defending champion West Des Moines Valley to a 6-0 victory over Muscatine in Class 2A first-round action at the Girls State Soccer Tournament. The match was delayed 70 minutes due to a thunderstorm.

Galles wasted little time, 26 seconds to be exact, to put the top-ranked Tigers on the scoreboard, taking an assist from Taylor Hellman. Galles scored the second Tiger goal at the 25 minute mark on an assist from Whitney Sharpe. Sharpe, Lindsay Vorland, Aleia Salazar and Mary Horvick also added goals for Valley, who improves to 17-2.

Valley dominated, outshooting Muscatine 27-12. Valley faces Johnston in the Class 4A semifinals Friday at 6:15.
