Third-ranked Pella advanced to the Class 1A semifinals for the second time in three seasons as Heidi VanderMolen’s two goals led the Lady Dutch to a 3-0 victory over tournament newcomer Nevada.

VanderMolen opened the scoring with an unassisted goal midway through the first half. Teammate Haley Brillhart added another tally 13 minutes into the second half with VanderMolen scoring Pella’s final goal with 16 minutes remaining in the match.

Pella outshot Nevada, 14-8 with Dutch goalkeeper Tressa Versteeg netting seven saves in the shutout.

Pella (15-3) advances to the Class 1A semifinals to face Bishop Heelan at 4:15 Friday on Field 4. Nevada ends its season at (15-6)
