Jill Schechinger’s goal with six minutes remaining lifted eighth-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes to a 1-0 victory over second-ranked Norwalk in first round action in the Class 1A Girls State Soccer Tournament in Muscatine.

The victory is the first in three state tournament tries for the Fillies (16-4), who face Pella in the Class 1A semifinals Friday at 4:15 p.m. Norwalk ends its season at 16-2.
