Class 1A Championship Match

Cedar Rapids Xavier claimed its third-consecutive Class 1A state championship with a 1-0 victory over Dallas Center-Grimes Saturday morning in Muscatine.

Morgan Showalter talled the lone score for the Saints, scoring in the 48^th for only score of the match. Catherine Bunting provided the assist.

Dallas Center-Grimes gave the top-ranked Saints all they could handle for much of the match. Xavier outshot the Fillies, 17-6.

Cedar Rapids Xavier becomes just the second team to win three-consecutive state titles, joining West Des Moines Valley (2005-07). The Saints finish the year 19-1. Dallas Center-Gimes, playing in its first-ever final, ends its season at 17-5.
