Elyse Galles scored both of West Des Moines Valley’s goals to send the Tigers to the Class 2A State Championship match for the fourth consecutive season with a 2-0 victory over Iowa City West.

The top-ranked Tigers dominated the match, outshooting the Women of Troy, 20-0, but were unable to score against Iowa City West’s stingy defense until Galles’ first goal at the 62 minute mark.

Amber Jardine and Emily Hejlik assisted on Valley’s two goals.

West Des Moines Valley shoots for an unprecedented fourth-straight state title and the fifth in school history when they face Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the 2A state title match for the third consecutive season. Iowa City West ends its season at 12-8.
