Senior Whitney Sharpe’s goal with 17 minutes remaining in the second half lifted top-ranked West Des Moines Valley to an unprecedented fourth-straight state title with a 1-0 victory second-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

This marks the fifth state title for the Tigers who have now won 75-straight matches against Iowa opponents.

Sharpe’s goal came from an assistant from Elyse Galles.

West Des Moines Valley ends its season at 21-0 while Cedar Rapids, who finished second in Class 2A for the third-straight year, ends the year at 17-3.
