Please read your 2007 IGHSAU
SWIMMING & DIVING MANUAL for the
full details of the meet procedures, prior to competition at regionals and
state. REMINDER: only 6
lanes are to be used in Regional meet competition. However, all lanes may be used
for warm-ups. If you have less
than 6 teams entered in a relay event, use lanes 2, 3, 4, 5. First place
swimmers and relays from each Regional plus the next 18 best performances from
all Regionals will qualify for the State Swimming Meet. The top four finishers in diving plus
the next 12 best performances from all Regionals will advance to State Diving
competition. If a regional championÕs time/score is not within the top 24
qualifying times, the top 24 qualifying times/scores will advance along with
the regional champion that does not have a top 24 time/score. THE
REGIONAL MEET WILL BE SCORED ON THE BASIS OF 16 PLACES.
Following
conclusion of your Regional Diving (Oct. 25) and Swimming Meet (Oct. 27), we
would appreciate your e-mailing/faxing results of the meet to the State
Office. With every site using
Hy-tek we ask that a backup copy of the meet be sent to the following e-mail
addresses: mnkjohnson@mchsi.com and laura@ighsau.org. Please e-mail your results as an attachment. We also
need a hard copy and would appreciate your faxing results to our fax
number: 515-284-1969. It is imperative you e-mail and fax
meet results. It will be necessary
to provide all team scoring as well as all place winners in the meet so that we
can prepare State Meet heat and lane assignments. Also, remember in diving the
top four in each region plus the next best 12 scores from all regionals advance
to state so we need every divers score reported. Please call our office once
transmittal is complete to confirm receipt of entire meet results. At that time we will need a telephone
number where you may be reached throughout the evening in case we have
questions regarding your results. You should contact your local media with meet
results.
Tentative
cutoff times will be posted on the web (www.ighsau.org) with final cutoff times
and qualifiers for the State Meet posted Sunday afternoon, October 28.
Management
will be available for calls at the State Office (515-288-9741) during the
diving and swimming Regional competition.
Best of
luck in your meet. Please feel
free to contact us should you have any questions prior to the meet. We look forward to receiving e-mail and
faxed results immediately following your Regional meet.
