Sites Announced for Girls State Golf,

Tennis and Co-Ed Tournaments

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union announced state tournament venues for the next five Girls’ State Golf and Tennis Tournaments.

The 2008 and 2009 Girls State Golf Meet will be played at Marshalltown’s American Legion and Elmwood Country Club courses while the 2010, 2011, and 2012 state meets will be held at Copper Creek Golf Course in Pleasant Hill and Ankeny’s Otter Creek Golf Course. The 2008 and 09 Co-Ed State Golf Meets will be played at Copper Creek before moving back to Otter Creek in 2010, where it will stay through 2012.

Sites for the next five Girls State Tennis Meets have also been determined. The Class 1A State Meet will be held in Decorah in 2008, Johnston in 2009, Iowa City in 2010 and Waterloo in 2011 and 2012. The 2008 Class 2A State Tennis Tournament will be held in Ames while Iowa City will host in 2009, Johnston in 2010, then back to Iowa City for 2011 and 2012. Des Moines will remain the host site for the next five State Co-Ed Tennis Tournaments.

Dates were also announced for the next five Girls State Indoor Track Meets at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. The 2008 State Indoor will be held March 25 while the 2009 meet is March 24. The 2010 Meet is March 23; 2011 is March 22 and 2012 State Indoor is March 20.
