TO: 2008 Singles and Doubles Regional Tennis Site Manager

SUBJECT: Tournament Administration -- READ CAREFULLY

SINGLES AND DOUBLES COMPETITION

All singles and doubles regional competition will be completed on Thursday, May 15. Tournament managers should immediately notify schools assigned to your site and send instructions for the May 15 competition.

The tennis manual sent to all athletic directors and coaches clearly designates the 9:00 a.m. start and all regulations related to singles and doubles competition. The singles and doubles champion and runner-up from each regional in both classes will advance to the state meet. Tournament awards and balls will be shipped to the tournament managers via UPS from our office on May 8th. Please study the manual for proper sequence prior to the tournament.

The IGHSAU will act as our clearinghouse for all tournament tennis results. Immediately upon the conclusion of the meet the host school and winning coach shall report results to the IGHSAU via one of the following methods phone 515-288-9741, FAX 515-284-1969 or e-mail Lisa@ighsau.org.

Friday morning following regional individual play (5/16) no later than 9:00 a.m., the coaches of singles and doubles champions will e-mail or fax the qualifications of their champion to the State Office for seeding purposes. Please use the e-mail address (Lisa@ighsau.org or FAX # 515-284-1969). E-mails and FAXs can be sent any time after the regional individual play on Thursday. If no information is received by 9:00 a.m. on Friday the coach of that champion will not be allowed to vote for seeding. Coaches of the 1A Champions will call in their vote between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. 2A coaches will call in their vote between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please call only within your designated time for your voting opportunity.
