2007 Iowa State Volleyball Tournament

Class 2A Semifinals – Friday, November 9, 2007

Western Christian 25-25-25, Aplington-Parkersburg 17-16-18

Brandee Schaap had 10 kills, five aces and 16 digs to lead top-ranked Western Christian back to the Class 2A finals with a 3-0 victory over Aplington-Parkersburg in a Class 2A semifinal match.

The win propels the Wolfpack back to the 2A finals for the seventh-straight season where they will play for the school’s 11^th state volleyball crown.

The Wolfpack served up 12 aces while picking 50 digs. In addition to Schaap’s effort, Kate Buyert added nine kills while Brielle Moerman collected seven kills and 11 digs.

Aplington-Parkersburg, the only team to defeat Western Christian in a state tournament match in the last six years when they topped the Wolfpack in the 2005 state championship, was led by Chelsea Wiegmann’s eight kills. The Falcons finish their season at 30-7.
