Janesville 25-24-25-25, Holy Trinity Catholic 23-26-19-21

 

 

Kendyl Sorge and Natalie Brace combined for 43 kills as Janesville advanced to the Class 1A semifinals for the second-straight year with a 25-23, 24-26, 25-19, 25-21 victory over third-ranked Holy Trinity Catholic in first round play at the State Volleyball Tournament in Cedar Rapids.

 

Janesville, last yearŐs Class 1A state runner-up, will face LeMars Gehlen Catholic in the 1A semifinals Friday at 7:30 p.m.

 

Sorge, a freshman, had 25 kills with 18 digs while Brace had 18 kills and 12 digs for the Wildcats.

 

Holy Trinity Catholic received 27 kills from Mikaela Foecke while Lindsey Reinhardt added 13. The Crusaders finish the season at 46-3.
