Natalie VondrakÕs 21 kills powered Sioux City Bishop Heelan
into the Class 3A championship as the Crusaders knocked off top-ranked Dubuque Wahlert 25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 25-20 in the Class 3A semifinals
Friday afternoon.
Bishop Heelan (46-11) will seek its fourth title in school history
and the first since 2007 Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and will play Waverly-Shell Rock
or Union.
Vondrak, who has signed to play volleyball at Iowa
State, had 21 kills, five blocks and 17 digs in the contest.
Dubuque
Wahlert, who was making its record 29th state
tournament appearance, was led by Amy IhmÕs 20 kills
and 27 digs. The Golden Eagles
end their season with a 30-9 mark.
