Iowa City High 26-26-22-25, Ankeny 24-24-25-23

It’s an all Iowa City final.

Second-ranked Iowa City High held off Ankeny 26-24, 26-24, 22-25, 25-23 to earn a shot at city rival Iowa City West in the Class 4A championship match Saturday morning at 11 a.m. The two teams met twice in the regular season with Iowa City West winning both matches.

Michaela Nelson led the Little Hawks with 16, three aces and 23 digs while Liz Hubing and Abby Saehler both had 14 kills apiece.

Ankeny’s Maddie Manning led the Hawkettes with 19 kills while Jaali Winters added 15 kills and Krista Pettepier added 10. Ankeny ends its season at 29-9.
