CLASS 2A QUARTERFINALS

Red Oak 3, Waterloo Columbus 2

Red Oak rallied from a two games to one deficit to edge Waterloo Columbus, 25-20, 18-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-9 in a Class 2A first round match in Cedar Rapids.

Tiger senior Paige Spangenberg led Red Oak with 22 kills and 20 digs while Alex Hanna added 14 kills with three service aces and two blocks.

Waterloo Columbus was led by Katelyn McCunniff's 15 kills while teammate Bre Payton added 14.

Red Oak advances to the Class 2A semifinals Friday at 7:15 to face defending 2A champion Western Christian.
