CLASS 3A QUARTERFINALS

Sioux City Heelan 3, Mount Pleasant 0

Mindy Moody had 11 kills to lead fourth-ranked Sioux City Heelan to an impressive 25-6, 25-14, 25-17 victory over ninth-ranked Mount Pleasant in a Class 3A first round match in Cedar Rapids.

The Crusaders jumped all over the Panthers in game one, hitting 52 percent en route to a 25-6 game one rout which set the tone for the rest of the game. Heelan hit 38 percent for the match compared to Mount Pleasant's .002.

Moody's 12 kills led a balanced attack for the Crusaders while Liz Sutherland and Hillary Hanno added seven. Lindsey Boldt led Mount Pleasant (31-8) with nine kills.

Sioux City Heelan improves to 49-6 and advances to the Class 3A semifinals Friday at 1 p.m.
