Dubuque Wahlert 3, Sioux City Heelan 0

Top-ranked Dubuque Wahlert's quest for a unprecedented sixth-straight state title continued Friday as the Golden Eagles put together an impressive 25-8, 25-15, 25-21 sweep of Sioux City Heelan in the Class 3A semifinals.

Wahlert hit an impressive .341 as a team, led by Kayla Banwarth's 15 kills and eight service aces. The Golden Eagle defense blocked five shots and held the Crusader offense to just 0.90 hitting.

Calli Johnson added nine kills for the winners while Sioux City Heelan was led by Hillary Hanno's five kills.

Dubuque Wahlert looks to become the first team to win six straight state crowns when they face Algona or ADM in the Class 3A title game Saturday at noon.
