Weekly Training Tip #8 - Premier Ladder Series

Ladder drills are useful in developing coordination patterns, at a faster rate then you would see at full stride length running. Improving collateral synchronization patterns as it relates to rapid acceleration/change of direction on the playing field. Coaching cues should stress movement pattern and technique over speed, once movement pattern is achieved then concentrating on improved speed and quickness. Training for decreased ground contact time. Remember, smooth is fast.
