Good morning. I hope this note finds all of you doing well. I wanted to update you on some swimming items that the IGHSAU Board of Directors approved last week.

Diving Development: Schools with diving programs will be allowed 10 total days of diving instruction from February 14, 2022 to June 1, 2022. This is a program limitation and not a team or individual limitation. Regardless of the number of schools who utilize the diving instructional development at any one time, a day is utilized in the 10 days.

The 10 days must be on file with school administration and must include skill instruction related solely to diving. No swimming drills are to be done during these sessions.The instruction should come from the school's designated diving coach. 

2022 Regular Season Qualifying Standards: The regular season state qualifying time standards for the 2022 season have been approved. The regular season state qualifying standards are as follows:

100 Butterfly                :59.42

100 Freestyle               :54.31

500 Freestyle               5:17.90

State Swimming and Diving Schedule Change: The Friday schedule for the 2022 State Swimming and Diving Schedule will change. The preliminary swimming meet will now be the first session on Friday while the State Diving Meet will be the second session on Friday evening.
