Waukee looked every bit the No. 1 seed in advancing to the Class 5A semifinals.

The Warriors, who have no seniors on the team, got contributions from everyone in their all-junior lineup and rolled past Sioux City East 76-36 for their 12th straight victory.

East had stunned Dowling Catholic in the regional finals but could not duplicate their magic against Waukee's pressing, harassing defense. The Warriors rocketed to a 29-9 first-quarter lead and were never threatened. Most of the second half was played with a continuous clock.

Katie Dinnebier, a 5-foot-8 guard who has committed to Drake, led Waukee with 24 points. She went 7-for-9 from the field with two 3-pointers and sank all eight of her free throws.

Megan Earney added 13 points for the Warriors and Taryn Reitsma put together an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double. Lindsey Kelderman scored nine points for Waukee and Payton Kelderman had eight.

Waukee made 10 of its first 14 shots, including four 3-pointers, in building its early lead. The Warriors finished at 55.6 percent for the game and forced 17 turnovers while committing only seven themselves. The starting five turned it over just three times.

Kennedy McCloy led East with 11 points and Nyamer Diew, who has signed with Butler, added eight. Kyley Vondrak also scored eight for the Black Raiders.

Waukee, which is in its 100th year of girls basketball, will take a 22-2 record into a semifinal game at 11:45 a.m. Thursday.

Sioux City East, in the tournament for the first time since 2001, finishes 16-8.
