Swimming and Diving Memo #3 – Friday, September 30, 2022
It is hard to believe that today is the last day of September. The fall season is flying by. As we get closer to post-season competition, I wanted to touch base about a couple of items.
Para-Swimming: A reminder that the IGHSAU has established a para-swimming program designed to allow individuals who require the use of a wheelchair the opportunity to become involved in interscholastic sports. The IGHSAU will offer competition in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 100 breaststroke. For more information, please click here. Para-athletes will be allowed to compete at the regional meet and eligible to compete in the state meet if they swim at regional competition. If you have an individual that is eligible to compete at regionals in the para-swimming division, please let me know, as I will need to set up the event in entry lists.
Diving Number Needed: Please email me ([email protected]) the number of divers you anticipate competing at regional competition this season. I do not need the names at this time, just a number.
Team Photo Needed: At the last two state meets, we’ve included team photos on the screen during the parade of teams before the start of the state meet preliminaries. I want to do that again. I want to start collecting team photos now, so if you have a team photo, please email it to me ([email protected]).
Regional Sites will be released next week, with team assignments posted the following week. Best wishes for a great October.
